From July 4 to 8, 2022, teachers and students of the “Wu Zhonghua” Class 2019 and 2020 in the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Jiangsu University went to Lianyungang, Jiangsu for a one-week internship. Dayong Gao, director of the Major Facilities Division of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, went to Lianyungang to arrange internships. Researcher Chaoqun Nie and senior engineer Yan Xiong gave face-to-face lectures to teachers and students.

The teachers and students of the "Wu Zhonghua" class visit the high-efficiency and low-carbon gas turbine test facility, a national major scientific and technological infrastructure project of Jiangsu Zhongke Energy and Power Research Center. The project leader introduces the overall planning of the park and various combustion chamber test platforms in detail. During the visit, Dayong Gao had a cordial conversation with the students and encouraged them to continue to work hard and devote themselves to major national needs. In the teaching session, Chaoqun Nie systematically explained the concept, knowledge, and development of gas turbines, focusing on 8 typical problems. Yan Xiong introduced cutting-edge combustion and diagnosis technology. The wonderful teaching benefits the teachers and students of Wu Zhonghua's class. During the internship, teachers and students also came to Zhongfu Lianzhong Group to visit the full-scale structural test bench of wind turbine blades shot by CCTV's “Super Project”. Zhongfu Lianzhong also arranges for experts to give lectures and tours to teachers and students on composite materials, blade manufacturing, and aviation components.

This production internship receives strong support from the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and related high-tech enterprises. The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Jiangsu University work together to overcome unfavorable factors such as the epidemic, deploy top domestic experts and platform resources, and ensure the high-level completion of joint undergraduate education. Through this internship, the students of “Wu Zhonghua” class are deeply encouraged and vow to devote themselves to the cause of serving the country in aviation with excellent results.
