On December 11-14, more than 20 teachers from the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Multiphase Flow of the School of Energy and Power Engineering went to Dalian to participate in the 2020 Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics-Annual Conference on Multiphase Flow.This conference focuses on gas-liquid two-phase flow and boiling heat transfer, gas-solid two-phase flow and combustion and pollution control, multi-phase flow mathematical models and numerical methods, petroleum engineering multi-phase flow, two-phase flow phase change heat transfer enhancement and energy saving, multiphase flow measurement technology, and high-tech two-phase flow and heat/mass transfer and so on, involving a total of 7 topics for academic exchange and discussion.

During the conference, members of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Multiphase Flow actively participated in the discussion on research fund project progress, special invitation reports, and group reports on various topics. Young teachers Li Bin, Wang Hai, and Wang Dongbao demonstrated the progress of their research work through oral reports at the branch venue; more than 10 doctoral and master students including Zhang Wei and Wang Qisi also gave oral reports at the branch venue. At this conference, Li Bin won the 2020 "Chen Xuejun Award for Outstanding Papers by Young Scholars" from the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics.

The teachers and students of our college successfully completed the academic exchange with good quality and high level of professionalism. At the same time, our research work and the progress have been affirmed by peers. During the conference, Professor Wang Junfeng was elected as a member of the new multiphase flow committee. In recent years, our school’s fluid mechanics and multiphase flow research under the leadership of Professor Wang Junfeng has undertaken 4 national natural science fund international cooperation key projects and general projects, and 10 youth projects, and obtained Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award of Colleges and Universities, Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award. Besides, related research results have been published in many well-known journals in the industry. At the same time, it has further expanded the influence of our school's power engineering and engineering thermophysics in the country.
