In order to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the construction of ideological and political courses and to fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, on the afternoon of December 11, Professor Dai Liling, Jiangsu University's first teaching master and first model of teacher ethics, delivered a thematic report titled 'Unchanged Original Aspiration, Teacher Ethics as the Soul' at Lecture Hall 1417 of the School of Energy and Power. The report was hosted by Kang Can, Secretary of the School of Energy and Power, and dozens of teachers from the School of Energy and Power, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, and School of Agriculture and Engineering attended.

The report began with a song, 'When I Grow Up, I Become You.' Professor Dai combined her own teaching experiences to share how she was influenced by her father, Dai Guirui, and her mentors, which helped her establish her original aspiration and belief in the educational cause. She explained, using her teaching experiences from different periods, how to design lessons, engage classroom atmosphere, incorporate ideological and political elements, and cultivate students' interests to improve the quality of education and teaching. Through practical examples, she interpreted the connotation of teacher ethics as 'teacher's love as the soul, high learning as the teacher, integrity as the model,' helping young teachers continuously enhance their educational and teaching levels as well as their ability to teach ideological and political courses, and foster good professional ethics.

Professor Dai Liling firmly believes that the original aspiration reflects teachers' love and responsibility toward education and determines their educational philosophy and methods; it is an important guarantee for upholding professional integrity and moral standards. Teacher ethics are the professional moral standards and behavior norms that teachers should possess, influencing the behavior and character of both teachers and students. Professor Dai's report generously shared her teaching experiences and insights with the young teachers present, providing much reflection and inspiration on how to deeply integrate ideological and political elements into courses and promote the improvement of teachers' professional skills.
