Demonstration Public Class of Carbon Neutral Technology
Date:October 23, 2025 View:

In order to improve the teaching level and quality of the school's professional teachers and to leverage the exemplary role of outstanding teachers, the School of Energy and Power Engineering held a seminar on the demonstration public class for the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year on the afternoon of October 23 in Conference Room 1. The seminar was hosted by Mr. Yang Song, secretary of the Teaching Development Sub-Center of the school. Teacher Rong Zhenzhou, who conducted the demonstration public class, shared his teaching insights, and several young teachers in their teaching assistant period participated in the seminar.

During the seminar, Mr. Rong introduced the teaching ideas explored in this demonstration class on AI-assisted integration of science and education, aligning the projects he led or participated in with the knowledge modules of the 'Carbon Neutral Technology' course, using research projects as 'living water' in the classroom to solve the problem of 'insufficient practical experience.' By bringing these research projects into the classroom, students are encouraged to explore topics aligned with major national needs, shown real experimental data, and guided to consider difficulties in project implementation and the concrete application of knowledge points in the projects. The cutting-edge and authentic nature of the projects gives the class more confidence and appeal. Meanwhile, AI is used as a 'partner' for both teachers and students during teaching, enhancing teaching effectiveness. AI tutors can be regarded as 'personalized research navigators' for students, while AI teaching assistants act as 'intelligent teaching management assistants' for teachers. These practices provide young teachers with an excellent example for course design.

After the sharing, young teachers asked questions and discussed the challenges and difficulties they encountered during their teaching assistant training period and early teaching experience. Mr. Rong, combining his own teaching experience, provided detailed guidance on aspects such as reasonable design of project-based teaching, handling the complex changes in students’ learning situations, compensating for lack of practical experience, and designing proper assessment methods.

This seminar offered a comprehensive, multi-level, and multi-dimensional summary and analysis of both teaching content and teaching theory. It played a positive role in nurturing young teachers and improving teaching quality, achieving a mentorship effect where experienced teachers guide younger ones in teaching. Through example and subtle influence, it helps young teachers better step onto the podium and contribute to cultivating high-quality professional talent for the school, university, and society.
