In order to meet the needs of the teaching development and cultivate high-quality talents of the school, and for the purpose of improving the teaching ability and teaching quality, the school held a seminar on the demonstration open course of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year in the second conference room on the afternoon of October 9, 2024. The seminar was presided over by Professor Pan Jianfeng, Dean of the school and Head of the Combustion Science Course, and Dr. Fan Baowei, the teacher of the Demonstration Open Class, shared his teaching experience, and Ms. Zhang Ying, the undergraduate teaching secretary of the School. More than 10 young teachers in the assistant teaching period participated in the exchange.

First of all, Dr. Fan Baowei shared his experience from the aspects of pre-class preparation, classroom teaching and after-class Q&A in combination with the actual teaching of "Combustion". It is suggested that on the basis of fully understanding the teaching materials and the situation of students, we should formulate teaching objectives and determine the major and difficult points. Furthermore, appropriate teaching methods are designed according to the teaching objectives, focusing on problem-guided and progressive progression, inspiring students to think and stimulating students' interest in learning new knowledge. In addition, building a harmonious teacher-student relationship can promote classroom teaching to a new level, respect, understand and motivate students in the educational process, and learn from each other and make progress together in a good and interactive teaching atmosphere. Next, the young teachers expressed their thoughts on listening to the open class of "Combustion", and asked questions about the difficulties and doubts they encountered in the early stage of teaching. Finally, Professor Pan Jianfeng made a concluding speech, emphasizing that it is necessary to adhere to the principle of cultivating people with virtue, focus on students, continuously improve the quality of curriculum teaching, actively explore new models of talent training, improve talent training capabilities in an all-round way, and better cultivate high-quality professionals for the society.

The seminar summarized and analyzed from many aspects such as teaching design, courseware production, and teaching methods, which inspired the teaching thinking of the participating teachers and stimulated everyone's enthusiasm for teaching practice. In particular, it has played a role in promoting the improvement of young teachers' teaching ability, which is a full embodiment of the solid development of "excellent and new" teacher training in the school, which has played a positive role in the teaching development of the school and achieved the expected results.
