Introduction
There are currently 10 full-time personnel, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 Yangtze River Scholar, 1 technology leader of the “333 Project” in Jiangsu Province, 1 young academic leader of the “Blue Project” of Jiangsu universities, and 2 talents of the “ Double Innovation Plan” in Jiangsu Province.
The institute has been focused on the field of energy and environment, with over 30 years of research history in the theory and application of charged multiphase flow. Scientific research works on electrostatic spraying of pesticides, electrostatic spray combustion of fuel, electrostatic spray dyeing, electrostatic spray desulfurization and dust removal, electrostatic process enhancement, and electrostatic spray cooling has been conducted. More than 50 projects including the Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation (International Cooperation), the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Sub Project of National Key R&D Plan, the Sub Project of National "863" Plan, the Project of National Development and Reform Commission High-tech Industrialization, the Project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and the Jiangsu university scientific and technological achievements transformation project, have been completed by the institute with a research funding of over ten million yuan.

Representative Research
The research team has published over a hundred high-level journal papers, including Int. J. Multiphase Flow, Phys Fluid, Exp. Fluids, Chem. Eng. J., Int. J Heat Mass Transfer, Energy, Fuel, etc. Over 20 invention patents have been authorized, and 2 Science and Technology Progress Awards of the Ministry of Education and 5 other Science and Technology Progress Awards in provincial and ministerial level have been achieved.
Typical Cases of Applications
The technology of charged multiphase flow and environmental control has been successfully applied in many large-scale projects in China, such as the Three Gorges Dam Project, the Large-scale locust plague control in Xinjiang grasslands, the stadium of Beijing Olympics, and the Shanghai Expo Park.
