Introduction
There are currently 15 full-time personnel, including 2 professors, 10 associate professors, 3 technology leaders of the “333 Project” in Jiangsu Province, 1 technology leader of the “Jiangsu six talent peaks project”, and 2 talents of the “Double Innovation Plan” in Jiangsu Province.
The institute has been focused on the field of new energy, with about 20 years of research history in the theory and application of solar energy and biomass energy. Scientific research works on high value conversion of biomass, green energy storage materials, solar PV materials, solar photovoltaic/thermal technology, solar photochemical conversion, key materials for lithium-ion batteries have been conducted. More than 40 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Sub Project of National Key R&D Plan, the Project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and the Jiangsu university scientific and technological achievements transformation project, have been completed by the institute with a research funding of over 3 million yuan.

Representative Research
The research team has published over a hundred high-level journal papers, including Bioresource Technology, Energy Conversion and Management, Applied Energy, Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Fuel, etc. Over 20 invention patents have been authorized, and 2 Science and Technology Progress Awards of the Ministry of Education and 3 other Science and Technology Progress Awards in provincial and ministerial level have been achieved.
Typical Cases of Applications
The technology of high value conversion of biomass, technology for improvement in growth of silicon crystal materials for solar PV cells, solar PV/T and low-grade thermal power generation have established the prototypes. We keep cooperating with
BAIC (Zhenjiang), Taihu Boiler Company, Suntech Wuxi Company, Changzhou Yijing Photoelectric Technology Company, and so on.
